Job Role: ML Data Associate-II

As an ML Data Associate-II, you will play a key role in Amazon’s machine learning projects by working with diverse datasets and contributing to the development of smarter AI systems. You’ll be involved in the data annotation process, where your efforts will enhance machine learning models that power various Amazon services. This role requires attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to handle large datasets across various formats including text, audio, image, and video.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Annotation:
   Annotate and label datasets across multiple formats, including text, audio, speech, image, and video, to enhance the machine learning models. You will use in-house tools and software to ensure high-quality output.

2. Confidentiality Adherence:
   Maintain and follow strict confidentiality guidelines while handling sensitive and proprietary data. Ensuring data integrity and security is paramount.

3. Performance Metrics:
   Work towards delivering high-quality labeled data that meets the defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Strive for excellence in meeting project deadlines while maintaining data quality.

4. ML Data Workflows:
   Serve as a subject matter expert in machine learning data workflows. Your expertise in text generation, grammatical accuracy, image annotation, and video processing will support various AI tasks.

5. Analytical Decision-Making:
   Demonstrate critical thinking while working with ambiguous data, ensuring logical decision-making in the annotation process. Evaluate data accurately to contribute to better machine learning models.

6. Agility and Adaptability:
   Be agile in transitioning between different data labelling tasks and workflows. Stay flexible and adapt to evolving project needs while maintaining attention to detail.

7. Process Improvement:
   Contribute to root cause analysis to identify patterns of errors. Suggest improvements in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and tools to enhance the efficiency and quality of the labeling process.

8. Ownership and Accountability:
   Take ownership of assigned tasks and execute end-to-end data workflows with minimal dependency on detailed instructions. Display sound judgment and problem-solving abilities to resolve data-related issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, Amazon is looking for candidates who possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Education:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognized institution.
  • A background in machine learning, data science, or AI-related fields is a plus but not mandatory.

• Experience:

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in any field, with prior exposure to machine learning, data science, or AI-related domains being an added advantage.

• Technical Skills:

  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in typing (above 50 words per minute).
  • A strong understanding of data handling, data labeling, and the ability to work with various data formats including text, images, and videos.

• Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in verbal, reading, writing, and comprehension skills at a B2 level (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages - CEFR).

• Attention to Detail:

  • Ability to handle large datasets with accuracy and maintain high attention to detail during the annotation process.

• Multitasking and Time Management:

  • Must have the ability to multi-task and switch between different workflows efficiently.
