Roles and Responsibilities
As a Junior Engineer – GBS Engineering, you will play a crucial role in supporting new product introductions and managing engineering changes across multiple global sites. Your key responsibilities will include:
Bill of Materials (BOM) Management:
- Create and manage part numbers for BOM in systems like Agile and Baan.
- Release and maintain product BOMs to ensure accurate documentation and smooth production processes.
Engineering Change Orders (ECO):
- Act as a Change Analyst for new product introductions (NPI) and product updates.
- Efficiently manage ECOs for Flex’s global manufacturing sites.
- Use Agile (Product Lifecycle Management) software to create, review, route, track, release, and distribute ECOs.
Product Documentation:
- Download and release customer documents, such as product specifications, in the company’s system for new product models.
- Collaborate with the Process and Product Engineering teams to review and implement changes in product designs.
Global Coordination:
- Work closely with engineering and material teams to review product modifications and ensure seamless communication between global teams.
- Respond to queries from business partners and customers regarding ECOs and product changes.
Process Management:
- Ensure adherence to key process metrics and targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and resolve conflicts effectively.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
Education:
- B.E. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) or Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).
Experience:
- 0 to 2 years of experience in NPI/ECO engineering, preferably in the EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) industry.
Key Skills:
- NPI (New Product Introduction): Experience in handling new product launches and managing associated documentation.
- ECO Management: Hands-on experience in creating and managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- BOM Management: Proficient in managing BOM processes, ensuring accurate part numbers and product updates.
- PLM Software: Familiarity with any Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software linked to the ECO process.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze product data and engineering changes.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office, MS Outlook, and other relevant software tools.

- Ability to mentor and coach team members.
