Job Responsibilities

As a Backend Software Developer at Genpact, you will be responsible for the following:

• Collaborate with Front-End Developers: Work closely with front-end developers and other team members to define project objectives and design backend solutions that deliver seamless user experiences.
• Backend Development: Write efficient, scalable, and optimized backend code using the latest Java technologies. You will work with frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Hibernate.
• API Integration: Integrate and manage REST and SOAP APIs, ensuring smooth communication between the backend and front-end systems.
• Database Management: Work with PostgreSQL, NoSQL, and other database systems to design and implement data storage solutions that support high-performance applications.
• Cloud Services: Leverage AWS cloud services to build scalable and reliable backend systems. You will have the opportunity to work with AWS RDS, DynamoDB, and other cloud technologies.
• Stay Current with Trends: Continuously monitor industry trends and developments in backend technologies to improve your coding practices and implement the latest best practices.
• Problem-Solving: Tackle complex technical problems by developing innovative solutions. You will be expected to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Collaboration and Leadership: Participate in team discussions, contribute ideas for improving systems, and take the lead on certain projects as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree: In computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Core Java Knowledge: Strong experience with Java 8 or Java 11. You should be comfortable working with Java-based web applications and technologies.
• AWS Cloud Services: Experience working with AWS services, including AWS RDS, DynamoDB, and other cloud-based systems.
• Microservices Architecture: Expertise in designing and implementing microservices-based solutions. Experience with Spring Boot and Spring MVC is essential.
• Database Experience: Knowledge of PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases. Experience working with complex database queries and optimizing database performance.
• API Management: Familiarity with REST and SOAP API integration and management.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with Jenkins or other continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools for automating workflows.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex backend challenges.
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Elasticsearch Querying: Any experience with Elasticsearch will be a plus.
• Test-Driven Development (TDD): Familiarity with tools like JUnit and Mockito for writing unit tests and automating test cases.
• Experience with Microservices: A good understanding of building, deploying, and managing microservices-based architectures on cloud platforms.
